Mandarins

The history of the fruit goes back three thousand years and starts from China. It is said that the tasty fruit was named after the Mandarins, the senior state officers of the Chinese Empire, because of the color of their uniforms and because they exchanged these fruits as gifts.

The varieties we cultivate are Clementines and Nova. Clementine is a variety that has won over consumers worldwide. The size of the fruit is small to medium; the spherical shape usually has a small apex. The rind is moderately thick and is easily peeled. The color of the fruit is deep orange to red orange when matured. It is juicy, seedless and rich in vitamin C. The mandarin of this variety is the ideal choice for children. The season for clementine is from October 20, to late December.

Nova Mandarins have a bright red color; they are large in size, with high juice content, excellent flavor and high resistance to cold stores. This variety is seedless. The season for Nova mandarin starts from December until the end of January.

Mandarin is rich in vitamin C and carotenoids. It is also a source of potassium and helps to reduce blood pressure.
