Lemons

Lemon is a cultured hybrid obtained from wild varieties such as citrus and mandarin. This fruit is mainly used for its juice, but its rind is particularly popular in cooking. Lemon is the most popular citrus fruit in the Mediterranean countries.

The varieties we cultivate are monoflorous Lisbon, diflorous Adamopoulou and polyflorous Nouvel Athos. The Lisbon variety is a productive monoflorous variety without many seeds   and very juicy. The fruit is large, elliptical in shape and is collected from October to February.

The Adamopoulou variety is a diflorous variety with large sour juicy fruits that has a rough rind with few seeds. Adamopoulou variety is very productive in the summer months. The Nouvel Athos variety is a polyflorous very productive variety, with very few seeds on the fruit. This variety has existed in Greece since 1977 and produces lemons throughout the year. At the beginning of the last century, the lemon tree was considered an aristocratic tree and was planted in the gardens and backyards of mansions.
